Pool cleanups
Pool Cleanups (See Galleries)
When a pool is in need of a major pool cleanup, it has been a common practice for pool service technicians to do a “drain and clean”
, which requires completely draining a pool in order to remove the dirty water, debris, and algae that is in the pool and then refill with fresh water. Included in the cleanup is often what is called an acid wash in order to remove stains, which can age the plaster.
Many pool owners are not aware of the fact that what holds the pool in the ground is the water in the pool. Because we live in an area where we are barely above sea level, there is a huge risk of underground water pressure pushing up under the pool when empty. This is what is termed “pool pop-up”and is not uncommon in areas with low elevation. This can cause tremendous damage, sometimes, irreversible, to the pool structure, plumbing and deck and can cost more money to repair than the original cost of installation of the pool. We feel that a pool should never be drained unless major repairs such as replastering or structural repairs are needed and require draining in order to perform and only a technician familiar with proper draining procedures and pop-up prevention.
We have developed a process of turning a"black lagoon” or“frog pond"even with a large amount of debris into a clean and inviting crystal clear pool This procedure may take several days and in some cases a few weeks to accomplish and requires the pool system to be in good working order and to have good circulation.
The process is not as fast as a “drain and clean” but definitely a safer method and takes far less water to be added to the pool, saving you $ due to not having to add thousands of gallons back to your pool.
